On Friday, December 4th, Central's Grace Metalious Chapter of the National English Honor Society presented a check, for $352.00 to the McIninch Library Media Center, which will be used to enhance our collection of required summer reading texts.
The money came from the Society’s second annual used book sale which occurred September 29, 30, and October 1. The advisor for the National English Honor Society, Ms. Selma Naccach-Hoff, helped organize and promote this event where students from the Society collected donated used books and recycled them into this fundraising book sale.
The sale concluded with a “Book Buy-Out Blowout where shoppers could fill a bag of any size with books for the incredibly low price of $3!”, and all books remaining after the sale were donated to Habitat for Humanity.
The McIninch Library Media Center thanks the National English Honor Society for its efforts and kind donation, and looks forward to supplementing Central’s English curriculum summer reading material for all levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 classes.
