From the Manchester School District via email on Tuesday, January 11, 2021:

  • Board of School Committee approves revised COVID-19 metric

  • New metric allows us to make learning model decisions at school level

  • Soonest students can return is Monday, Jan. 25

  • Safety precautions will remain in place

"On Monday evening, the Board of School Committee approved a revised metric for Manchester School District to determine learning models during the COVID-19 pandemic. The revised metric aligns more closely with the state’s metric for schools. A key change is that it allows us to make decisions about the learning model at the school level, as opposed to making decisions district wide.

The new metric will be effective on Monday, Jan. 25, meaning that’s the earliest that students can return to in-person learning. When students return, the safety precautions adopted by the school district will remain in place, including mask requirements and physical distancing of 6 feet.

In the coming days, district staff will begin implementing the change to the metric, including updating documentation and rolling out training.

You can find the revised metric here."
