Free Online Resources for Students and their Families:

·         Virtual Field Trips – Families can take local and global virtual field trips

 

National Zoo – has live animal cams including a Panda cam https://nationalzoo.si.edu/

 

San Diego Zoo & Safari Park – You can take a trip around the world with their live animal cams.

Cincinnati Zoo – Every day beginning at 3:00 pm, they go live with a Talk about one of their animals.  Fiona the Hippo was one of their special guests.  https://www.facebook.com/cincinnatizoo/

 

Franklin Park/Stone Zoo – They have begun at 1:30 pm a Zoo to You program.  They visit and talk about some of the animals at their zoos.  https://www.facebook.com/franklinparkzoo/.

Boston Children’s Museum – You can take a virtual tour of the museum.  They also have activities families can participate in. www.BeyondTheChalkboard.org

 

Shedd Aquarium – Chicago – They are offering tours of the aquarium.  Your tour ‘guides’ are two penguins and a porcupine.  There are also lots of behind the scenes footage as well.  https://www.facebook.com/sheddaquarium/

 

National Parks  - You can tour 31 National Parks all across the country with Google Earth.   earth.google.com

 

Exploring Mars! – You can explore the surface on the Curiosity Rover. https://mars.nasa.gov/msl/home/

TumbleBooks – They have given free access to their online five databases. Their databases offer a variety of audiobooks for all ages including adults.  They are easy to use, and feature unlimited access from home.  The books are available instantly.  There are not check-outs, holds or download.  Links and passwords are available at on our homepage. www.manchester.lib.nh.us.
